Those detained include the militia group’s alleged leader, FREDERIC BATUMIKE, who is a provincial deputy.
They are accused of targeting very young girls on pretence of associating them with supernatural protection.
Justice Minister ALEXIS THAMBWE MWAMBA said BATUMIKE and seventy-four of his fighters were arrested last week for repeated rapes of about thirty young girls near the village of Kavumu.
The prime suspect is also accused of ordering the killing of a German engineer, WALTER MULLER and a Congolese human rights activist EVARISTE KASALI.
