The report claimed that President MUHAMMADU BUHARI had approved the retirement of the Chief of Defence Staff, General GABRIEL OLONISAKIN, and the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral IBOK-ETE EKWE IBAS.
But the Director of Defence Information, Brigadier General RABE ABUBAKAR said the rumours are baseless and unfounded.
The Defence spokesman told reporters that all the service chiefs are still in office and discharging their official responsibilities, as he urged the public to ignore the report.
