The Director of Defence Information, Major-General RABE ABUBAKAR said the announcement by the so-called Islamic State was irrelevant and inconsequential to the military operation in the North-East.
The Defence spokesman said the military remains focused on its operation against Boko Haram terrorists, stressing that the claim of a new leadership for the group was only meant to seek attention and relevance.
