Declare your assets, Femi Falana urges Buhari and Osinbajo

FALANA made the demand in a statement circulated in the media by SERAP.

FALANA, in the statement  faulted the President’s claim for not declaring his assets, saying it contradicted the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria (as amended), the Freedom of Information Act and the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights.

The rights Lawyer also said the Code of Conduct Bureau is bound by law to make details of the declared assets of the President and his Vice, available to members of the public, pursuant to section one of the FoI Act.

He added that the Bank Verification Number commonly called BVN implemented by the President BUHARI administration has ended secrecy of bank accounts, thereby curbing illegal banking transactions in Nigeria.
