The consignment comprises six hundred and sixty-one pieces of Pump Action Guns and Automatic Rifles, concealed in forty-nine boxes.
The Comptroller General of Customs, retired Colonel HAMEED ALI told newsmen in Ikeja that the firearms were concealed in steel doors and other merchandise goods in a 40-feet container.
He said three suspects have been arrested in connection with the illegal importation, while investigations continue.
