The screening also uncovered seven hundred and fifty-eight other teachers in the state who gained employment with fake certificates.
This was made known by the Chairman of the Cross River State Universal Basic Education Board, Doctor STEPHEN ODEY.
The SUBEB Chairman also announced the demotion of a Head Teacher on Grade Level Thirteen to the post of a gateman on Grade Level Four, after it was found that he had been employed based on a fake certificate.
Doctor ODEY said the fake certificates have been confiscated from their owners, adding that no other punishment would be applied on the defaulters, apart from the demotion and suspension.
