Sebastian Kpalap and Arochukwu Ogbonna who are plaintiffs in the suit had asked the court to compel Governor NyesomWike and the Accountant General of the State who are defendants in the case to make available documents on the cost of construction of flyovers and some other past and ongoing projects in the state in compliance with democratic tenets of accountability to the citizenry.
Today FM’s Uchendu Ejiowhor reports that presiding Judge, Justice James Omotosho in his judgment struck out the matter, saying that the plaintiffs filed their suit out of the stipulated thirty days which is contrary to the freedom of information act.
Addressing newsmen outside the courtroom, Lesily Wike who represented Governor Nyesom Wike, State Accountant General and Rivers State Government described the judgement as a well delivered judgment.
