Court orders Multichoice to compensate customer

Major said the company failed to render services to him after paying for his upgraded subscription.

The order came after the company appealed against the judgment of a chief Magistrate court where it was initially heard

Dissatisfied with the judgment of the trial court that compelled it to give a one-year free subscription to the complainant, Multi-Choice Nigeria Limited appealed against the judgment before a High court.

The presiding Judge, Justice Margaret Okpara in her judgment upheld parts of the Chief Magistrate Court’s decision that ordered the Multi-Choice to pay two hundred thousand naira as the cost to the complainant.

Today FM’s Uchendu Ejiowhor reports that Justice Okpara however changed the one-year free subscription to four hundred thousand naira as damages to be paid to the complainant.
