Justice A. M. LIMAN granted the order in the ongoing trial of Justice UMEZULIKE on corruption charges, following his arrest along with other suspected corrupt judges in a recent nationwide raid by operatives of the Department of State Services.
Justice LIMAN made the order in response to a request by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for the freezing, seizure and forfeiture of properties and assets linked to Justice UMEZULIKE.
The former Enugu State Chief Judge is accused abuse of office and receiving gratification, and his arraignment is expected to take place at the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt.
The EFCC has filed an application for the arraignment of Justice UMEZULIKE but no date has been fixed for the commencement of trial.
