Our correspondent UCHNEDU EJIOWHOR reports that the matter was adjourned after State Attorney General, EMMA AGUMA had requested for time to file his brief.
On his part; counsel to the appellant, BELUOLISA NWOFOR asked the Appeal Court to direct the lower court to stop hearing of the matter pending the determination of the appeal.
After listening to the argument; the Presiding Appeal Court Judge, Justice THERESA ORJI ABADUA directed the parties to regularize their replies on points of law before the next adjourned date.
Speaking outside the courtroom, BELUOLISA NWOFOR expressed displeasure over what he considered a deliberate move by the Rivers State Government to delay hearing on the matter brought on behalf of his client.
However; the state counsel and Commissioner of Justice, EMMA AGUMA declined to speak to journalists on the court proceedings.
