CJN hold emergency meeting in review ofsecurity clampdown on suspected corrupt judges

Justice MAHMUD MOHAMMED called the meeting of the NJC in

his capacity as Chairman of the highest judicial body in the land.

Speaking at valedictory court session in Abuja in honour of retiring

Justice SULEIMAN GALADIMA of the Supreme Court, the CJN

described the operations by the Department of State Security

Service as unfortunate and regrettable.

Our correspondent JAMES IGAH reports that Justice MAHMUD

MOHAMMED urged Nigerians to remain calm and prayerful.

The Chief Justice of Nigeria also commended the Nigerian Bar

Association for its support and response to the clampdown on

judges.
