The Resource Centre for Human Rights and Civic Education (CHRICED) has called for an independent investigation into the controversy surrounding the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).
The organisation also urged the immediate suspension of the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, pending the outcome of the investigation.
CHRICED said an independent probe is necessary to establish the facts surrounding the controversy and ensure transparency, accountability and public confidence in government institutions.
The group maintained that those linked to the matter should step aside while investigations are ongoing to guarantee a credible and impartial process.
