CBN Governor, GODWIN EMEFIELE while reacting to the report by the NBS confirmed that prices of goods has been on consistent increase because of the closure of the borders to other West African countries.
EMEFIELE said though majority of the masses are feeling the direct impact of the increase in prices of goods, other Nigerians in the production and manufacturing sector are benefitting from the situation.
He therefore, appealed to Nigerians to endure the impact of the policy of the Federal government, adding that normalcy will return to Nigerian markets few months from now.
The Consumer Price Index that measure the prices of goods and services shows that food and urban inflation recorded the highest increase in percentage points.
