As Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara prepares to resume duty after six months away from office, stakeholders have urged him to remain focused on governance and prioritize the welfare of residents.
Civil Rights Advocate, Opunabo Inko-Tariah, appealed to the governor to continue with his developmental agenda, stressing that the challenges of the past months should not derail his commitment to service. He also called on lawmakers to put aside vindictiveness and work in harmony with the governor to move the state forward.
Similarly, the Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State, Leader Sampson, urged Fubara to give priority attention to the needs of ordinary citizens upon his return.
Adding his perspective, the Convener of the Rivers Peace Initiative, Obinna Ebogidi, expressed hope that political actors in the state have drawn lessons from recent events. He advised the governor to steer clear of “crisis merchants” and focus on fostering stability and peace in the state.
