The CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele revealed this during the monthly CBN Monetary Policy Committee Communique Presentation yesterday.
The CBN had fixed December 15 to unveil the redesigned one thousand, five hundred and two hundred naira bank notes, giving a deadline of January 31st as the last day for the use of the old bank notes.
The CBN governor added that the CBN will reduce the production of the five hundred and one thousand notes to encourage the use of smaller denominations.
