This was disclosed to State House Correspondents on Tuesday by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Timipre Sylva at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The Minister said the executive will propose 18-month extension to National Assembly for the implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) meant to takeoff in February.
The minister, who is the chairman of the PIA Implementation Committee, clarified that the decision of the executive arm of government to seek an amendment of the law was not politically motivated but became necessary, to halt the potential suffering of the vulnerable in the society.
