Director of Press at the Ministry Of Niger Delta Affairs, Patricia Deworitshe, announced the appointment in a statement on Thursday, hours after Effiong Akwa was sacked as NDDC boss.
In a statement, Audu-Ohwavborua will perform the duties of the Managing Director in an acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive Managing Director and members of the Governing Board.
He is the most senior director in the NDDC.
The statement also revealed that President Buhari approved the constitution of a new management team and Governing Board of the NDDC
The president further said the names of the nominees for the management team and Governing Board would to be transmitted to the National Assembly for approval.
