The protesters returned to the Unity Fountain in the Federal Capital Territory for the second day to demand investigation to the ill-health of President BUHARI.
Leaders of the demonstration, including CHARLES OPUTA, also known as CHALLY BOY, and DEJI ADEYANJU, began the campaign after President BUHARI exceeded ninety days on his second medical leave in London.
They protesters rebuffed criticism from official quarters, stressing that they were not out to engage in debate with any, but insisting that President BUHARI should resume of resign.
ADEYANJU particularly expressed worry that the Acting President, YEMI OSINBAJO, has not been able to fully take charge of affairs in the absence of the President.
Meanwhile; the Presidency has advised those calling for the resignation of President MUHAMMADU BUHARI to be cautious.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, GARBA SHEHU, gave the advice after some groups under the aegis of Concerned Nigerians protested in Abuja and asked the President to either resume or resign.
SHEHU said those calling for BUHARI’s resignation are stepping outside the laws of the country and however added that they are within their right to protest.
He explained that President Buhari handed over to his vice, Professor YEMI OSINBAJO, according to the Constitution and, therefore, has not breached any law.
Similarly; Senator SHEHU SANI has backed the position of the Presidency in defence of ailing President MUHAMMADU BUHARI.
According to a post on his Facebook page monitored by our Abuja correspondent, Senator SANI noted that President BUHARI had properly handed over power to the Acting President before traveling overseas for medical treatment.
The Senator from Kaduna State acknowledged that the protesters were entitled to enjoy their constitutional right to freedom of expression, but appealed to them to instead pray for the recovery of the President.
