The House in a rowdy plenary yesterday resolved to investigate JIBRIN over alleged misconduct in the manner he went about his allegations against the Speaker and other principal officers.
The matter was referred to the Committee on Ethics and Privileges, which was asked to report back after one week.
But the embattled federal lawmaker from Kano State has said it would not appear before the Ethic Committee unless the investigation would be open to the public.
JIBRIN also vowed to build a massive coalition with civil society organizations and other well-meaning Nigerians to ensure that the budget padding allegations are not swept under the carpet.
He also promised to continue to cooperate with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and other relevant institutions that are already investigating the matter.
