Zonal Commander of the Rumuokoro, Rumuodomaya, Rupokwu, and Igwururta axis of the Task Force, JERRY AMADI made this known in an interview with our correspondent, SANDRA KENNETH.
JERRY said the Task Force Official were attacked minutes after the drivers protested over the seizure of some of their vehicles by his team.
He however said the vehicles were seized because of wrongful parking and loading by the drivers.
Reacting to this, Chairman of Driver’s Welfare Association, LEKIA ISAAC confirming the situation to our correspondent said the drivers involved have been apprehended by security agencies.
Our correspondent reports that earlier today, some drivers were seen stopping taxis from carrying and lifting passengers in a bid to protest for the release of their vehicles.
