The BON made the call at the 67th General Assembly and 16th Annual General Meeting which of the organization which was held in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the BON JOHN MOMOH stressed the need for the NBC and Digiteam to hit the reset button on the planned digital switch over of the broadcast industry.
MOMOH explained that the licensing of the third parties like CCNL, STB manufacturers and Inview Technology has created a clog in the actualization of the digital switch over.
The BON Chairman added that it is Illogical to have a middleman between a content producer and the signal distributor.
He therefore, urged the NBC to ensure that all technical and coordination activities of the existing DTT pay source are resolved otherwise the digital switch over will not be actualized.
The Minister of Information, LAI MOHAMMED was represented at the event by the General Manager of NTA Owerri, GLADYS IGBOANUGO who commended the BON for their contribution in developing the broadcast industry and also called for its support in the development of the country under the President BUHARI-led government.
