Traditional leaders, youths and other stakeholders had called on the Rivers State police command and other security agencies to aid in the fight against a criminal gang terrorizing the community to allow the inhabitants return home, after they were chased out from the area.
The call became necessary following the continued call for justice by the families of those who were killed during a sporadic shooting in Bodo community by the cult group.
The Bodo people in a statement signed by the stakeholders expressed concern that despite several calls on the authorities, nothing has been done, adding that the dead bodies are still at the morgue without proper burial.
The statement revealed that calls to the public relations officer of the Rivers State Police command, Grace Iringe-Koko and her Six Division Nigerian Army counterpart, Danjuma Jonah, have proved abortive as they are yet to respond.
The people however, called on government at all levels and security agencies to intervene to enable them return home without further security threats.
