Black Soot: Rivers Police Set Up Panel To Investigate DPO Involved In Bunkering

The Commissioner of Police, Friday Eboka in a statement said the command received with concern, the news making the rounds that the Rumuji DPO is involved in illegal bunkering activities, hence, have immediately redeployed the officer.

The CP in the statement by the command’s Acting Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko revealed that the panel; already inaugurated is headed by an Assistant Commissioner of Police.

He said the outcome of the investigation shall be made public and the officer punished appropriately if found guilty of the allegations.

The statement quoted the Commissioner as reiterating the commitment of the command to support the state Government in its war against illegal oil bunkering and assured the public that the command will not spare any indicted person no matter how highly placed he or she may be.

He called on any one with useful information on how to fight the menace not to hesitate in passing it to the security agencies or the Local Government chairmen.
