If the bill is passed by the Senate, concurred to by the House of Representatives, and gets the assent of the President, the novel university of health sciences would be sited in Otukpo, Benue State.
The sponsor of the bill and former Senate President, Senator DAVID MARK received resounding commendations from his colleagues during debate in plenary.
Senators who spoke in favour of the bill expressed the view that it would not only benefit the people of Benue State but the entire people of Nigeria.
The bill was thereafter referred to the Senate Committee on Tertiary Education and TETFUND, with a mandate to make further legislative input and report back in four weeks.
