A former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, has announced that the National Political Consultative Group (North) has adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as its preferred opposition platform to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
Lawal disclosed this on Saturday while addressing journalists at the end of the 3rd Expanded Meeting of the National Political Consultative Group (North) held in Abuja. He stated that the group, which consists of various political stakeholders from the North, is determined to rally behind the ADC in its bid to unseat the APC.
He noted that the decision was driven by a collective resolve among Northerners to elect a leadership that would genuinely represent and protect their interests.
Lawal emphasized that the current political landscape demands a formidable opposition, stressing that the ADC provides a credible alternative platform to challenge the APC’s dominance and offer Nigerians a new political direction.
