Authorities of the Nigerian Air Force have uncovered a fake recruitment syndicate that parades as agents of the Air Force and other security agencies.
Our Abuja correspondent JAMES IGAH reports that the revelation was made following concerns about purported hijacking of the ongoing recruitment exercise of the Nigerian Air Force. The syndicate is also alleged to have defrauded unsuspecting members of the public in the guise of recruiting personnel for the Federal Road Safety Commission and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps. The spokesman for the Nigerian Air Force, Group Captain AYODELE FAMUYIWA, said the investigation that led to the arrest of the alleged impostors followed complaints that the Air Force was charging fees in its ongoing recruitment exercise.Group Captain FAMUYIWA said an Air Force Provost arrested MUSA IBRAHIM BABAGIDA, who is alleged to be the facilitator of the syndicate that had been duping prospective air force recruits.Following the development; the Nigerian Air Force wants the public to know that it does not charge any fee for registration nor sell forms for recruitment into the force. Therefore, the Air Force is appealing to anyone with information on activities of fake recruitment agents in order to stop the criminals.
