Reports say the incident took place on Saturday in the remote northern town of Kaga-Bandoro, where there has been a surge in violence in the last month.
The AFP news agency quoted a source within the UN mission in the CAR confirming that the incident happened when members of the mainly Muslim ex-Seleka movement attacked the town to settle an old score.
