State Chairman of PDP, FELIX OBUAH in a statement released by his media assistant, mocked the Transport Minister for trying to use the meeting to test the waters for his political ambition in 2019.
OBUAH described the ROTIMI AMAECHI peace initiative as an assemblage of members of the All Progressives Congress that was put together to shore up the credibility of the immediate-past Rivers State Governor.
But in its reaction; the APC advised the PDP to take another look at the national voting pattern in the 2015 elections to underscore alleged massively rigged votes from Rivers State in a bid to save former President GOODLUCK JONATHAN from defeat.
APC Publicity Secretary, CHRIS FINEBONE said the statement, in some ways, underscores the nexus between the hurting of 2015 election and the spate of destruction of oil installations by Niger Delta militants.
The APC spokesman said the PDP in Rivers State fails to see the need for peace which the Abuja meeting convened by AMAECHI was meant to bring about in the Niger Delta.
He asked if anyone was still wondering those behind the ongoing bombing and bursting of pipelines in the Niger Delta.
