The APC had joined the Independent National Electoral Commission and the twenty three local government chairmen as well as the Inspector General of Police in the suit.
Today FM’s Uchendu Ejiowhor reports that the matter came up for hearing before a federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt yesterday and the counsel to the APC, Collins Dike applied to the court to discontinue it.
Counsel to the state government and Governor Nyesom Wike, Zacchaeus Adangor who is the state Attorney General and commissioner for Justice did not object to the application.
Speaking to newsmen outside the courtroom, counsel to APC, Collins Dike said the move was for strategic reasons.
