Chairman of the APC in the state, Chief DAVIES IBIAMU-IKANYA had in an interview said the amnesty programme was a smokescreen aimed at granting freedom to known cultists in the state.
Chief IKANYA also alleged that the amnesty granted to one Don Wanny in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area of the state does not guarantee security in the area.
Reacting to the comments, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of ONELGA, OSI OLISAH said the APC Chairman was being insincere for describing the amnesty as a waste of time.
OLISAH said security that cannot be compromised has returned to ONELGA, stressing that majority of the youth in the area have agreed to a peace pact.
OLISAH said the problem of insecurity in Rivers state is an issue that should concern everyone irrespective of party affiliation.
He encouraged ONELGA youth not to be swayed by comments by the APC, just as he advised them to remain Law abiding in their actions.
