State Chairman of the APC, DAVIES IBIAMU-IKANYA also claims that the party was aware of the involvement of a very senior legal practitioner from the state in the transfer of monies running into hundreds of millions of naira to Abuja for the same purpose.
IKANYA said the aim is to smear, intimidate and blackmail the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice ZAINAB BULKACHUWA and other Appeal Court Justices over the murder trial of former Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government council, OJUKAYE FLAG-AMACHREE.
The APC Chairman further claims that the latest move against the Court of Appeal Justices is only coming because of a failed attempt to compromise the justices in the ongoing murder trial.
IKANYA said the development further confirms that OJUKAYE FLAG-AMACHREE is being victimised for political reasons.
He also cited a statement purportedly made by a former national legislator and senior PDP member in Rivers State who allegedly boasted that Governor WIKE was out to jail FLAG-AMACHREE at all cost.
The Rivers APC also wandered why the judge handling the murder trial of the APC chieftain happened to be the wife of a senior member of the PDP.
