The Chairman of the APC Caretaker Committee in the state, Tony Okocha said the call became necessary following the outburst of the governor against the Amaewhule-led lawmakers, where he described the Rivers State Assembly as non-existence.
Okocha, while describing Governor Fubara as the worst thing that has happened in the history of Rivers State politics, said it was worrisome to know that the governor after addressing Amaewhule as the Speaker of the House in some of the documents sent to them in recent time, still addresses them as non-existent.
Chief Okocha claimed that Governor Fubara rewrote the Constitution of Nigeria with his outburst against the Assembly, and where he also insisted that the presidential peace pact was only a political solution and not constitutional issues.
Okocha paraded the governor as a dictator, clueless and without direction in politics, saying that the governor by his claims about the peace pact disrespected president Bola Tinubu as the father of the nation and warned that such actions would not be tolerated by APC in the state.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State Government has slammed the All Progressives Congress, over its call on the Martins Amaewhule-led State House of Assembly to immediately commence an impeachment process against the governor of the state, Siminalayi Fubara.
The state’s Commissioner for Information and Communications, Joseph Johnson, explained that the twenty seven lawmakers in the State House of Assembly lacked the moral standing to impeach the governor.
The commissioner warned the APC lawmakers, who are loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Terrority, Nyesom Wike, against embarking on such a venture, stressing that any attempt to impeach the governor will be resisted by the Rivers people.
