Chief Okocha in a statement he personally signed, expressed concerns that the governor was donating vehicles at a time Rivers people were experiencing excruciating hunger, saying even those Governor Fubara allegedly sponsored recently to stage a protracted protest intended to embarrass President Bola Tinubu, failed to inform him that hunger was real.

The statement maintain that the Governor did not also see the need to mirror infrastructural and human development projects other governors have embarked on in their respective States at the critical time in history which is intended to alleviate and cushion the effects of hunger and the concomitant aftermaths.

Chief Tony Okocha claimed that in other states, Tractors and farm implements are gifted to Farmers to enhance Agricultural production for food sufficiency and security, and food items bought in several mind-blowing thousands and gifted to citizens, to alleviate and ameliorate hunger.

He said unfortunately, in Rivers State, a clueless administrator chooses to donate confirmed 7th hand rickety vehicles’ to the Rivers State Police Command, expressing concern that a day after the vehicles were donated, some of them have gone bad.

Okocha further questioned if the Police Command has been removed from the exclusive list wherein only the Federal Government is responsible for recruiting, management, and funding.

He said the Rivers State Police command under CP Olatunji Disu, has shown professionalism which endeared him for a great award by the National Command, insisting that any vehicle to be gifted to the Police by the governor should be brand new.
