The appeal was made by a group of candidates of the All Progressives Congress for the House of Assembly election.
The politicians made the appeal during a condolence visit to the widow of late former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief GODSPOWER AKE.
The leader of the group, FRIDAY NKEI who spoke on behalf of other candidates, said the call for peace should be embraced by all stakeholders, regardless of party affiliations.
In her response; Madam CHRISTY AKE decried the level of insecurity in Rivers State, and appealed to the political class to emulate her husband whom she said always stood for peace during his lifetime.
