State Chairman of the APC, Chief DAVIES IKANYA, said Governor WIKE planned to close over five thousand schools.
Chief IKANYA warned that the move would have disastrous consequences, if carried out by the PDP Administration in the state.
In a statement released by his media adviser, Chief EZE CHUKWUEMEKA EZE, the Rivers APC Chairman noted that the offence of the proprietors of the affected schools is because of their membership of the APC.
Chief DAVIES IKANYA further observed that the owners of the affected schools include Rivers people and non-indigenes.
He advised Governor WIKE to reconsider his decision to shut down the schools, warning that some forty thousand people working in such schools could be rendered jobless.
