Another procession has been held in Ogoniland in protest against the violence witnessed in the area during the recent military invasion.
This time some leaders of the People’s Democratic Party including former Senator LEE MEABA and the Secretary to the Rivers State Government KENNETH KOBANI were spotted at the protest. The protest in happening just when the Minister of Environment AMINA MOHAMMED is in the area meeting with stakeholders ahead of the clean-up exercise of ogoniland.Addressing the crowed, the Rivers State SSG KENNETH KOBANI reiterated the position of Rivers State Governor NYESOM WIKE that he must be informed before any security operations would be carried out.He also added that those who planning to militarize Ogoniland would one day, account for their actions On his part, the former Senator LEE MEABA also appealed to the federal government and all other relevant agencies to ensure that the military is removed from the area.
