JOLIE’s movie titled “First They Killed My Father” is a true-life account of the Khmer Rouge genocide through the eyes of a child.
It was from Cambodia that JOLIE adopted her oldest son MADDOX, and she told reporters that the country marked her awakening.
The special envoy of the United Nations refugee agency said she hoped the film, which she directed, would help Cambodians to speak more openly about the trauma of the period.
