Senator ANDY UBAH was first elected to represent Anambra South Senatorial District in April, 2011 on the platform of the PDP until his defection to the APC.
Senator UBAH’s defection notice was read on the resumption of plenary today by the Senate President, BUKOLA SARAKI.
Senator SARAKI also read two letters from the Presidency, including the one announcing the extension of President MUHAMMADU BUHARI’s vacation.
The second letter was signed by the Acting President, Professor YEMI OSINBAJO, in which he requested the Senate to confirm Justice WALTER ONNOGHEN as Chief Justice of Nigeria.
After reading all the correspondences; the Senate Leader, Senator AHMED LAWN, called for an adjournment in honour of a member of the House of Representatives, BELLO SANI, who died while the National Assembly was on recess.
The National Assembly had adjourned plenary for three week to enable members attend to budget defence sessions with officials of the various ministries, departments and agencies of the Federal Government.
