Alleged Assault: Ahoada West Girl Cries for Justice After Council Chairman Visit

A young girl, Winnie Uchechi from Ahoada West Local Government Area, has called for public attention and protection following allegations that she was assaulted by the local council chairman.

Uchechi alleged that the incident began after she took photographs of the deteriorating state of Community Secondary School, Odiokwu to highlight the poor condition of the facility. She said her intention was to draw government attention to the school’s infrastructure challenges and advocate for urgent renovation rather than to embarrass any authority.

According to her account, after posting a video showing the state of the school online, the chairman of Ahoada West Local Government Area, Eugene Epelle, allegedly visited her residence in company of his brother and some other persons, where she claimed she was assaulted.

The girl stated that she shared the video to push for positive change in the community and not to undermine anyone. She is now seeking protection and intervention from relevant authorities over the alleged attack. Authorities have not yet publicly responded to the allegation.
