All is set for the deployment of the eight thousand, seven hundred-strong Multinational Joint Task Force to fight Boko Haram insurgents in north-east Nigeria. A report quoting the Information Desk of the Nigerian Defence Headquarters says the Chief of Defence Staff, General GABRIEL OLANISHAKIN joined other Chiefs of Defence Staff from the Lake Chad Basin for a meeting in N’Djamena where final details for the deployment were worked out. It says the move is geared towards enforcing a directive by President MUHAMMADU BUHARI to end the Boko Haram insurgency with three months of the appointment of the new service chiefs.
