All is not well around Oroakwor at Mgbuoshimeni community in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State. Our correspondent reports that a crisis within the community has claimed the life of one person, with several properties destroyed.
It was gathered that one Elder MAXWELL ACHOR CHUKWU was killed by a stray bullet fired by security operatives who were trying to arrest some individuals during a peace meeting called by the leadership of the community. Some residents have been forced to abandon their homes in the community for fear of escalation of violence, while security has been beefed up in the area. Speaking on the development, the Chairman of Mgbuoshimeni community Development Committee, CHUKWU OHAZURUME accused some individuals of instigating the trouble. Correspondent UCHENDU EJIOWHOR reports that policemen in five patrol vans have been deployed around Mgbuoshimeni.
