Air force confirms bombing of Boko Haram logistics base in Sambisa.

This comes nearly three months after the Nigerian Military celebrated the capture of the Boko Haram stronghold of Sambisa Forest, with the dismantling of Ground Zero.

The Director of Public Relations and Information of the Nigerian Air Force, Group Captain AYODELE FAMUYIWA said two fleeing terrorists were tracked by NAF Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance aircraft to the concealed location where they had gone to retrieve some items.

Group Captain FAMUYIWA disclosed in a statement that a coordinated attack was carried out on the location by a formation of two Alpha Jets and an F-7Ni fighter aircraft, while the ISR aircraft remained overhead the target location to provide guidance.

He said a huge inferno generated by the attack suggests that the target location was either a fuel or ammunition dump as could be seen from the declassified footage of the air strike.
