The Agriculture Development Programme Manager Rivers State chapter, Vitalis Chinda-Gbule in an interview with Today FM’s Olawale Sanusi, said the outgoing administration might have performed well in infrastructure and other sub sectors but did not do much in the agro sector despite its huge economy potentials.
Chinda-Gbule however commended Governor Wike on some of his agricultural projects, like the yet to be commissioned veterinary and diagnostic centre at Rumoudumaya, the commissioned abattoir at Rumolumimi Obio/akpor and the cassava processing plants at Oyigbo which is yet to commence full operation.
The ADP manager appealed to the incoming government to give attention to the agricultural sector, as it will help absorb the teeming unemployed graduates and also reduce youth restiveness to the barest minimum.
