Age one of many reasons contributing inability to carry out leadership function-Health expert

This is the summation of a consultant neurologist psychiatrist, Doctor Abolu Kennedy-Nkporbu, at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching hospital.

Kennedy-Nkporbu, who spoke in an interview with Today FM’s Ifunanya Obeme-Ndukwe, clarified that a lot of factors can contribute to ones inability to occupy certain leadership positions, one of which the doctor identified as health crisis, which may have negatively impacted the health of the individual.

The Doctor explained that some of these diseases may have directly affected the brain cells that are responsible for carrying out cognitive functions, like leadership function.

Kennedy-Nkporbu however noted that at old age, a person’s health begins to deteriorate and maybe characterized by dementia and other illnesses, as he advised that at such stage, the main concern of the people around such persons should be their health.

The comment from the doctor comes amid controversy over the ability of an aged person to occupy certain leadership positions with huge responsibility.
