Aftermath Rivers Rerun: APC -PDP trade blames.

Senator MAGNUS ABE of the APC for Rivers South-East Senatorial District blames Governor NYESOM WIKE and his PDP for acts of violence during the elections.

Senator ABE also accused Governor WIKE of turning around to try and smear his electoral victory in the rerun on 10th December.

The APC Senator particularly identified an incident at Bodo community, which he said could only have been triggered by the order given to PDP supporters by the party’s Arrest Resistance Committee.

Senator MAGNUS ABE said from the outset, violence was inevitable because of the language employed by the PDP and alleged arming of their members by the so-called Resist Arrest Committee.

The APC chieftain dismissed claims that deaths were recorded in Khana, stressing that he was not aware of such information, except in Bodo where he received reports that somebody died.

He therefore wondered why incidents of violence allegedly orchestrated by the PDP in Rivers South East Senatorial District should be used to assess his election victory.

Senator ABE demanded to know why the PDP Senators who won in Rivers East Senatorial District and Rivers West Senatorial District are not being held responsible for similar acts of violence that characterized their elections.

However; the PDP in Rivers State is calling for the prosecution of some notable APC chieftains in Rivers South-East Senatorial District over alleged killings and maiming of PDP members.

State Chairman of PDP, FELIX OBUAH, also boast that the victory of Senator MAGNUS ABE of APC would not last a long time.

In a statement released by his Media Assistant; OBUAH said the APC chieftains in Ogoni connived with the security agencies to kill and maim PDP members during the rerun elections.

The PDP Chairman noted that it was a sign of desperation by the APC chieftains to have kicked against the call by PDP for the redeployment of the SARS Commander, AKIN FAKOREDE.

According to the statement; the Rivers PDP alleged the SARS Commander was caught by drone cameras, allegedly hijacking election materials.

The PDP statement further noted that the party’s Ward Ten Chairman in Khana, LENEE NEEBANI, died after was arrested and tortured by the police on the alleged orders of an APC chieftain.

It also stated that the Ward Nine Secretary of PDP in Khana, LEGBORSI AZOOR was rushed to hospital in critical condition.
