ADC Demands Disclosure of Alleged Agreement Between Governor Fubara and FCT Minister Wike

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State has called on Governor Siminalayi Fubara to publicly disclose the nature of any agreement he allegedly entered into with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

In a statement issued by the State Chairman of the party, Leader Sampson, the ADC said there should be no reason for secrecy if the reported agreement is genuinely in the best interest of the people of Rivers State, noting that the governor is governing on the mandate freely given to him by the electorate.

Leader Sampson stated that any agreement allegedly reached between Governor Fubara, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, and President Bola Tinubu does not reflect the interests or aspirations of Rivers people.

According to him, the only valid agreement in existence is the social contract between the people of Rivers State and Governor Fubara, which he said is founded on trust, accountability, and the protection of the collective interest of the state.

The ADC chairman stressed that governance must be rooted in the will of the people and not external control. He further described the ongoing political rift between the FCT Minister and his successor, Governor Fubara, as a calculated distraction allegedly designed to divert public attention from political and institutional setbacks imposed on Rivers State by the Federal Government.

Leader Sampson also alleged that Governor Fubara’s administration appears constrained by political loyalty, making it difficult for the governor to act decisively in the best interest of Rivers people, particularly in the management of the state’s resources.

Meanwhile, the African Democratic Congress said it remains the only credible, people-oriented, and formidable political platform capable of restoring the lost glory of Rivers State.

The party added that it is committed to rebuilding public trust and placing Rivers State firmly on the path of economic growth, political dignity, and genuine prosperity.
