A task force of the Rivers State Government has commenced the removal of unauthorised billboards erected in the capital, Port Harcourt.
The operation is being carried out by officials of the Ministry of Urban Development and took off from Lagos bus-stop in Old Port Harcourt Township, through Aba Road.The Commissioner for Urban Development, CHINYERE IGWE told correspondent UCHENDU EJIOWHOR that the operation is meant to regulate advertisement in the state.Campaign billboards of candidates for the forthcoming re-run elections in Rivers State are also not speared in the dismantling operation, but the Commissioner for Urban Development said that the goal is to give a face-lift to the state capital.
