A new report has revealed that Ebola virus can survive in the semen of male survivors for up to nine months, which is much longer than previously thought.
According to a report citing the New England Journal of Medicine, it was found that two-thirds of men had Ebola in their semen up to six months after infection, and a quarter after nine.
The BBC also cited a separate study, in the same journal, which claims that Ebola being spread through sex with a survivor six months after their symptoms had started.
Following the findings; men who have survived Ebola are being encouraged to wear condoms.
