Among other issues, the ULC leaders are unhappy with the refusal by government to register their group.
The ULC is also in sympathy with lecturers of universities who have been on strike for over a month, thereby paralyzing academic activities in federal and state universities nationwide.
The ULC want the government to meet the demands by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, to enable the lecturers return to work.
The newest labour centre is also not comfortable with the poor state of roads across Nigeria and the stagnant minimum wage of workers.
The ULC strike is expected to affect activities in the petroleum and gas sector, as well as aviation, road transportation, electricity and power supply and the financial services sector.
