The move is part of conditions of a peace agreement signed between the Farc rebels and the Colombian government last year.
The group is also expected to handover another third of its arms next Wednesday, with the remainder due to be surrendered in a fortnight’s time.
The weapons are being handled by UN monitored and are to be stored at twenty-six locations around the country.
It may interest you to note that the Farc rebels had waged the longest running insurgency in the world, which lasted over fifty years, before the deal was sealed last year.
